Volunteering for Age Concern Feltham Hanworth and Bedfont

Can you answer YES to any of the following questions

·        Do you have time to spare on a regular basis?

·        Have you ever thought about helping your local community?

·        Are you happy to work as part of a team?

·        Do you enjoy meeting new people?

·        Do you want to learn new skills?

·        Do you like making a difference?

THEN why not volunteer for us ............................ Age Concern volunteers are people of all ages and from all walks of life, some work for an hour or two and others are able to spend more time with us.  However much or little time you are able to give is an appreciated contribution.

Volunteers and voluntary organisations are an important and valuable part of the community life, you do not need any academic qualifications to become a volunteer and although people with specialist knowledge are welcome and needed, we just seek a willingness to give time and a desire to help others.    Volunteers are needed for all manner of tasks, from Trustees for the organisation, to helping in our community social clubs or at Feltham Lodge Day Centre making teas and socialising, assisting with kitchen or dining room duties, helping in the office or manning reception, driving our minibus or assisting as escort to our driver, selling in one of our charity shops, driving our van to collect donations, craft or entertainment, as part of the team cooking lunch, helping at the Garden Fete or the Christmas Bazaar.  The tasks that need doing are many and varied!   Being a volunteer means that you are someone who really cares about people. You are offering your free time, your experience and skills to help others.  Once we receive and process your application, we need to think carefully how best to use you. We must match your skills successfully with one of the variety of tasks that need doing.   When you join Age Concern Feltham Hanworth and Bedfont, you become an important part of the organisation.

Come to Age Concern as a volunteer, an informal interview will be organised at which you can chat about all the areas where help is needed, however before you commit yourself to Age Concern, you need to ask a lot of questions about the kind of organisation we are and what you can expect from us, as well as what we can expect from you.   You should be sure you agree with our aims, priorities and methods before making a commitment to the organisation.
